God Work Our Hands

                     Christian Education 10:30 AM    

Zion members, friends and visitors are invited to grow in their relationship with Jesus through the Christian Education opportunities offered for all ages from 10:30-11:10 AM each Sunday. The goal for the 2009-2010 Christian Education year is to help all  to focus on our theme of living out "God's Work-Our Hands."

March 7        Music and Activity Sunday-Zacchaeus
                       Luke 19:1-10
March 14     The Last Supper--John 13:1-20 
March 21     The Day Jesus Died--Luke 19:28-40; 22:14-23:56
March 28     Palm Sunday-The Empty Tomb-Luke 24:1-12

                     Confirmation Class

The Confirmation Class plans are to focus on the 7th Commandment, God giving us direction not to commit adultery and the 8th Commandment, "You shall not steal" during March.

                      High School Class

Students in the High School Class and their teachers are continuing their visits to other area churches to create awareness and understanding of other denominations and how they differ or are similar to Lutherans. Students will debrief and engage in discussions after their visits and also enjoy a game day during the month.

                           Adult Forum

"The sign of Jonah" Lenten Bible Study will continue throughout the month of March. Everyone is invited to attend the Adult Forum which meets in the Fireside Room from 10:30-11:10 AM each Sunday. You are invited to enrich your Lenten journey by joining in the discussions.

Christian Education has decided to support Lutheran World Relief request for Health Kits to help refugees throughout the world maintain personal hygiene. Listed below are the items needed to make up kits:

Health Kits

Health Kits include:
1 Hand Towel (dark colors)
1 Washcloth
1 4-5 oz. Bar bath soap in original wrapper
1 Adult toothbrush in original wrapper
1 Sturdy Comb (remove wrapping)
1 Metal nail file or Nail Clippers with file attached (remove wrapper)
Note: (Do not substitute emery boards for the file)
6 Band-aids 1/2--3/4 inches--secured together with a rubber band.

Look for the Health Kit basket in the narthex to leave your donated items.
